According to BusineSs Week Magazine’s annual rankings of the best places to raise your kids, Rio Ranch has been selected as the “best place to raise your kids” in New Mexico. The popular publication collaborates with OnBoard Informatics (a company that provides real estate analysis) to rank cities and towns for placement on the list. The criteria to be considered for this notable annual archive include: a population of at least 45,000 residents along with a median income of $40,000-$125,000. Furthermore Business week also factors in benchmarks such as affordability, safety, and how family-friendly a city/town is, which can be measured by collecting data regarding “school performance, number of schools, household expenditures, crime rates, air quality, job growth, family income, museums, parks, theaters, other amenities, and diversity”.

Nearest city: Albuquerque
Population: 75,231
Median family income: $66,222
Runners-up: Roswell, Santa Fe Rio Rancho, just north of Albuquerque, topped the ranking in New Mexico for the second year in a row. It has 330 annual days of sunshine, mild temperatures, and natural beauty. There are also plenty of other attractions, including a zoo, museums, and monuments.”
